ESTATE
The ancient house of the La Verrie-Vivans is rooted in the Perigord, originally from the Sarlat area. It is infact the product of two families of distinct lineage: the ‘La Verrie’ and the ‘ Vivans’, were amalgamated on 30th January 1720  to become the ‘La Verrie de Vivans’.
The Oldest of the two families, the ‘Vivans’, count amongst their glorious ancestors Geoffroy de Vivans (18 November 1543-21 August 1592), who was a generous supplier of arms in support of the wars of religion and a great friend of Henry IV, who, during the battle of  Coutras, declared what has now become the family motto: « There where God is, the Devil cannot harm » (20 October 1587).
During the French Revolution, all family property was confiscated and mostly destroyed. The ‘La Verrie-Vivans’ took refuge at the beginning of the  19th century in the Bergerac countryside in the Château de Gageac amongst its grounds and its vineyard; inherited by the stepfather of Geoffroy de la Verrie de Vivans, Pierre-Louis baron Doussault de La Primaudière, was the son of a distinguished officer in the 1st Empire, Joseph-Michel (8 May 1778-9 May 1839).

Hervé and Xavier, the heirs of the Estate, are together developing a strategy  which builds on the experience and traditions which have already made it so successful.
