The Château Jeanbrun vineyards are located within the hamlet of  Gageac-Rouillac, between Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (Gironde) and Bergerac (Dordogne), within the Bergerac AOC.
Grapevines  dominate the Dordogne valley. noted since antiquity for its perfect growing  conditions,
The vineyard covers approximately 10 hectares at the heart of which is sits the family château, built in the Renaissance. The vines are almost equally divided between white and red varieties, allowing the production of red, rosé and sweet and dry whites.

The château has seen many familys since it was built, but from the middle of the 19th century  it had fallen into disrepair and had a melancholy aspect, broken and abandoned. It was finally acquired  in January 1963, by Jean de La Verrie comte de Vivans, whose ancestral lands of the Château de Gageac adjoined the property..
The vineyards were gradually replanted,  the house and outbuildings restored, then the cellars of the Château de Gageac, built in 1912, were  brought back into use for the estate in 2006.

Presently the Jeanbrun estate is home to the older generation of the family, La Verrie, Comte de Vivans.

2007 is an important year for the vineyard as Jean passes on the running of the estate to his  two sons, Hervé et Xavier to ensure the continuation of its traditions. Their first task is to iimprove productivity and build on the existing commercial potential.
